The KAWSx Air Jordan 4 Retro is a collaboration between Brooklyn street artist KAWS, a.k.a. Brian Donnelly, and Jordan Brand. The design removes the traditional plastic accents of the silhouette and dresses in a premium grey suede over the entire upper and midsole. The sneaker also has a branding of KAWS’ ‘XX’ on the heel tab. The shoes were released in March 2017 along with a small capsule collection that included a jacket, hoodie, t-shirt and hat. The hype for this release was so intense that police read the riot act at the in-store raffle at Patta in London and sneakerheads hacked into Donnelly’s website for an opportunity.

Designer Youssouf Fofana joins once more with Jordan Brand to provide his unique look for the Air Jordan 2, with orange hand-stitching on the tongue and collar echoing his 2019 Air Jordan 1 Mid collaboration. The off-white leather upper’s forefoot and heel are layered in orange nubuck, and custom insoles feature artwork of the iconic Jumpman image. The OFF-WHITE x Air Jordan 1 is created by designer Virgil Abloh in the classic Chicago colorway. Some of the half-finished characteristics of the sneaker include an OFF-WHITE zip tie on the collar, a Swoosh linked to the shoe with noticeable blue stitching, ‘Air’ printed on the midsole. The box is deconstructed as it is turned inward with the inside consisting of a black structure and a gold Jumpman logo, while the outside is plain cardboard with the words ‘Jumpman’ printed on it. The Virgil OFF-WHITE collection included Air VaporMax, Air Presto, Air Max 90, Blazer, Air Max 97, Hyperdunk 2017, Air Force 1, Zoom Fly, and Chuck Taylor remixed iterations.
